UPDATE 8/20: Sad to say, but we will not be appearing at Occidental Park tomorrow. There has been a last-minute shift in direction for this event, and any future Music in the Square events will essentially be under new management. It’s too bad, as this was a fun event while it lasted, and our pal Grindle worked tirelessly to pull it off. But fear not, we’ll be back in the public eye in no time.
So, if anyone needs a couple of Live PA sets tonight, for any sort of event (house party, bar mitzvah, wake?), please let us know, as we are suddenly available.
Original Post: Hello, faithful fans. Just wanted to mention that the d.iscontent roster will be playing live in Occidental Park, in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood, on Saturday August 21st, as part of the ongoing Music in the Square series. We’ll be playing alongside DJ Veins and Ill Cosby, and there will be an open decks segment after we play, which serves as an audition round for entry into this years Battle of the MegaMixes. It’s a free outdoor show, so make sure you don’t miss out.
Also check out the lineup on this Saturday, Aug. 14th. You’ll be able to catch a live set by Gunnar Lockwood, a friend of d.iscontent, along with DJ Eddie, Epaulettes, and Electrosect.

While some say that the red sun that lingered over Cascadia yesterday was merely the result of smoke plumes from British Columbia drifting through the air over the Puget Sound, we choose to think of it as an omen, a portent for things to come.
First, we have a collection of remixes from the recent Miniature Airlines album Arrivals & Departures. Since the album’s release, a group of the finest producers from Cascadia and beyond have been tirelessly deconstructing, reconstructing, rearranging, and manipulating bits and pieces of these songs, and the results are stunning. If all goes well, this collection of 10 tracks will be up on the d.iscontent Server of Doom by next Tuesday, just waiting for you to download it.
And as if one upcoming release wasn’t enough, we’d also like to remind you that Hjalti’s next epic musical journey is nearing completion. The as-yet-untitled opus has been revised, refined, and extended over a series of months, and has already been performed twice in partial, incomplete form. In fact, you can hear a preview of the in-progress version right here. If all goes well, we’ll be able to hear this in it’s final form this Fall. Stay tuned…
Finally, if you’d like to see a live preview of the new Hjalti album, along with a set by Miniature Airlines, plus a special guest or two, keep your eyes opened for our next live performance later this month. Naturally, details will be posted here soon. It will be a free, outdoor show, so you have no excuse to miss it.

While digging through the grim and frostbitten caverns that house the d.iscontent archives, we stumbled across an unmarked recording. Upon further investigation, it turned out to be a recording of the first live appearance of our very own Hjalti, purveyor of destruction. We decided that the risks inherent in unleashing it onto the unsuspecting populace (widespread panic, mass hysteria, possible loss of life) were not great enough to dissuade us from posting it for general consumption. May future generations judge us kindly, and know that we intended well.

It’s here kids. You’ve heard him talking about it (probably incessantly). You saw the sneak preview of the cover art last night, if you follow him on Twitter (@miniair). You may have been one of the lucky few to hear some previews on Soundcloud. But this is it, for really reals.
Arrivals & Departures, the first full length album from Miniature Airlines, has….um….arrived. And you can get it here. For free.
That’s right, 11 tracks of blissed out, sliced up, melodic, synthtastic laptop pop, all available for download right this very minute. So go on, download the album, give it a spin on your listening device of choice, blast it out the windows of your car, and spread the word. We hope you enjoy it thoroughly.

Our energies have been diverted inward of late, with much effort being directed to the creation of new, exciting sounds for our adoring public. While many of you have no doubt grown impatient with the lack of news issuing forth from our headquarters, we assure you that we will make up for the neglect.
Miniature Airlines has completed the mixing of his new full-length album, Arrivals & Departures, and will be releasing it in the coming weeks. As if that’s not enough, a follow-up remix EP will appear soon afterwards, featuring the talents of several remarkable producers, some new and some familiar.
Meanwhile, Hjalti is slaving away at a new album as well, an album which, judging from what small previews we have been graced with so far, delves deep and delivers a fresh take on his signature combination of austere beauty and pummeling intensity.
As if that weren’t enough, both artists will be performing brand new material live in person at the Living Room bar on Seattle’s Capitol Hill. DJ Verse is hosting a twice-monthly night known as Show & Tell, which is quickly becoming one of the best spots to hear fresh new music being unveiled by a steady stream of Seattle’s brightest. We are blessed to have our roster included in such august company. June 16th: mark your calendars, and prepare yourselves mentally and physically.

We’ve had the appearance of still waters here at d.iscontent headquarters lately, but there’s plenty of activity in the depths.
Our biggest news is an impending live performance by Miniature Airlines, and not just any live performance; he’ll be participating in the annual gladiatorial event known as the Laptop Battle here in Seattle, at Chop Suey on December 18th. this is a live performance spectacle, pitting 16 musicians against each other in a fight to the finish. Look for a full line-up and other details shortly, and make sure you come out to cheer on Miniature Airlines! Audience participation will help determine the winner of this brawl.
Of course, while preparing for this battle, Miniature Airlines is also still hard at work on his upcoming full length, tentatively titled Arrivals & Departures. There’s no firm release date, but early winter 2010 is the best bet.
Speaking of new albums, Hjalti is in the planning stages of his next aural assault. Now that he’s returned from Scandinavia, he’s upgrading his entire music setup, starting with the battered and sputtering laptop that has served his musical needs for the better part of this decade. Once the new hardware arrives, he’ll be starting on a new project that by all accounts should be bleaker, heavier, and darker than anything he’s done before. Look for this currently untitled project to fully integrate his primal influences, from minimal IDM to grim black metal.
Keep watching this page for more information as all of these projects develop…

We take a short break from our frantic (*ahem*) self-promotional posting schedule for a little cross-promotion: next week heralds the 6th annual Decibel Festival in Seattle. From the 24th through the 27th of September, you can catch some of your favorite electronic artists at a number of venues here in the fine city on the Puget Sound, playing everything from sublime ambience to grimy dubstep, smooth house to hard techno. It will be a rollicking good time, and perhaps you will even bump into Miniature Airlines behind one of the merchandise booths. (I would mention Hjalti as well, but reports indicate that he is wandering the wilds of Scandinavia at the moment).
So come one, come all! Decibel Festival only happens once each year, and it’s not to be missed!
