At long last! The new Miniature Airlines single is out! Continuing our tradition of seasonally themed releases (which I swear is purely coincidental), this one is called First Snows & Last Leaves, and it features not only two brand new Miniature Airlines tracks, but also four remixes, for a grand total of six new tracks. More like a maxi-single or EP than a plain old single really, but we’re sticking to our guns and calling it a single. That way you feel like you’re getting more for money. What’s that? You didn’t pay a cent for this? Quite right, as usual. Enjoy it, compliments of the crew here at D.iscontent.
UPDATE: Windows users have reported difficulties unzipping track 4, due to illegal characters in the filename. If you download the zip file, track 4 will probably show up as a 0 byte file. You can download this track directly by clicking on the title in the tracklisting, and a new .zip file will be uploaded later tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The D.iscontent crew is stepping up their actiity, with an active release schedule for the coming months, and exciting news about new artists joining the roster. We’re not posting details yet, but we will let you know now that a new single is on the way from Miniature Airlines. Tracks are being finalized as we speak, and we’re hoping to include a few remixes with this release. If you’re interested in creating a remix, please email Miniature Airlines, and find out how you can get your hands on a remix kit or two.
On Tuesday, November 4th, the United States will elect a new President, bringing an end to eight disastrous years of failed Neoconservative policies (we hope). Also on that night, Canadian citizen Miniature Airlines will be playing a Nectar, with a slew of other great producers and DJs, while you all watch the election results and raise a celebratory glass for the election of America’s first non-white Commander in Chief (we hope). Hope to see you there. Miniature Airlines will be playing material from his Pushpin Revolution EP live for the first time ever that night, so this will be a special show for many reasons.
As promised, D.iscontent has woken from it’s summer slumber with not one, but two release for your listening pleasure. Hjalti’s debut album, Winter Asks What We Did In The Summer, is our first full length release, while the Perestroika split EP, formerly available only to attendees of Static Glide, features Hjalti and Miniature Airlines breaking it down in an old school remix battle extraordinaire. Both are free downloads, because we know you would just download it for free anyways. Plus, we have Lenin on the cover of Perestroika, so it would feel wrong to release it as a Capitalist endeavor.
By all appearances, it has been an uneventful summer at D.iscontent headquarters. But the first rumblings of activity are about to be heard. The turmoil and strife of summer will become audible shortly. Hints have been dropped here and there, but soon enough, actual evidence will become apparent. Watch closely.
So “Static Glide” was a huge successes! Thank you everybody for coming out and making it an amazing night. Pictures of the evening will be up in the media section soon! Plus look out for the new album by Hjalti some time in late June.
As if 4 DJs and 2 live sets by everyone’s favorite d.iscontent artists wasn’t enough, you now have more reason to hit up the Baltic Room on Sunday for Static Glide Part 2. Reigning Opticlash champion Scobot will be providing live visuals during the festivities. See you there, comrades!
Just a quick note to let all our adoring fans know that the awesomeness that is Static Glide Part 2 just got awesomer. Since there were some logistical difficulties at Static Glide 1, thanks to the Seattle Fire Marshall shutting down the VIP Room and half of Neumo’s, Greg Skidmore and Struggle didn’t get to perform that night. So the obvious solution is to welcome these two amazing DJs to Static Glide Part 2! That’s right, next Sunday at the Baltic Room, there will be 4 DJs in styles ranging from dubstep to IDM and beyond, plus the two live sets by Hjalti and Miniature Airlines. You can’t ask for a better line up, especially not for a show that’s free before 10. Come early, drink heavily, and dance with gleeful abandon this Memorial Day Weekend, and the expanded and improved Static Glide. It is your duty.
Finally the set of three d.iscontent buttons along with the access to the Peristroka split EP are assembled and ready for the masses. They are $2 a set and will be made available at the show (Sunday May 25th at the Baltic Room) as well as from the web site later on. All the cool kids will be wearing them so don’t be left out on the trend that is sweeping the nation!

The source code for the audio application Pure Data being interpreted as audio data by…Pure Data itself. Hjalti has used a similar technique to generate samples before - opening the executable file for an application as if it was raw audio data, and choosing snippets of the results to build compositions with. It’s an interesting and sometimes surprising appr […]
